As a way to increase branding exposure and promote a new “Green” marketing plan, this client proposed to produce several high profile parties around the United States. The parties were private, but were held in association with a concert series. The kick off event took place at an exclusive Las Vegas outdoor beach club overlooking the concert.
The number one priority was to brand the location and transform it into a custom environment that displayed product and engaged guests. Besides the expected utilization of lighting and props, the client wanted the guests to be greeted by a “special” themed logo that would be projected on the side of a building.
Besides the usual budget issues, the location had severely limited access (i.e. physical and time). VEP proposed a combination of visual and interactive elements. Custom graphics were affixed to the bottom of each pool. Plexi dance platforms were placed in the pools for professional dancers. An extensive array of static and programmable lighting instruments were installed on the building tops and in the planters, which not only concealed them, but also provided strategic focus opportunities. All the tables and catering stations were treated with custom lines, centerpieces, and props. Instead of utilizing a conventional lighting instrument and gobo for the special projection, VEP proposed a video format. This was accomplished by taking the clients power point marketing slides (text), the themed logo, and then layering them over a moving background. To enhance the appearance the themed logo was made dynamic. The result was a mesmerizing 2 minute video loop that took less than 4 hours to complete and avoided the time and expense of a specialized technician and premium software such as 3ds Max.
